Bobby Keys, the longtime saxophonist for The Rolling Stones, died Tuesday at the age of 70, according to Nashville Scene.

A native of Texas, Keys was a frequent collaborator of The Stones for over five decades, contributing to countless studio albums and accompanying the band on supporting tours. He is perhaps best known for his solo on “Brown Sugar”.

Keys performed with The Stones as recently as 2013, appearing with the band at Glastonbury and as part of their “14 on Fire” tour. He left the band prior to their Australian tour in October. According to a representative for Keys’ family, he had been battling cirrhosis.

In addition to The Stones, Keys worked with The Who, George Harrison, Eric Clapton, Buddy Holly, and Lynyrd Skynyrd, among many others. He also took part in the last known recording session between Paul McCartney and John Lennon in 1974.

Below, watch a selection of videos featuring Keys performing alongside The Stones.
